| | | Circana’s Scott Scanlon is making the bold claim “beer is back.” “Dare we suggest again the death of alcohol may have been greatly exaggerated,” Circana’s EVP of BevAl wrote in the market research firm’s latest weekly report. “Traditional spirits is facing challenges, but [we] believe wine negativity has bottomed, RTDs continue to outperform/expand and beer … well, looking at the data so far in 2026, beer is back!” Scanlon’s enthusiasm follows total bev-alc topping $1.27 billion in sales in the week ending March 22, marking a 1.5% increase YoY. | | | Firestone Walker is taking over U.S. production of Trumer Pils and acquiring the U.S. rights of the craft pilsner from The Gambrinus Company, the companies announced Friday. All Trumer Pils production for the U.S. market will transition from Gambrinus’ Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, CA, to Firestone Walker’s Paso Robles operations. The production transition is expected to be complete by “early June 2026,” with Gambrinus “winding down operations” in Berkeley, according to the spokesperson. Learn more |
