| 📰 Today's Top Story | | | | The bev-alc industry is experiencing a bit of déjà vu heading into the 2nd half of 2026, despite a hot start, according to the latest monthly report from Bump Williams Consulting (BWC). Beer, wine and spirits have each recorded near identical trends YTD through June 20, compared to losses recorded in the same period in 2025, BWC reported, citing NIQ-tracked off-premise data. So far, there has not been a significant uplift from the World Cup, which kicked off June 11 and concludes July 19 – at least not in the off-premise, as reports of “beer shortages” in U.S. host cities have been driven by increased on-premise traffic. | | 📝 Brewbound Headlines | | | | Deschutes’ co-branded beers with Costco are being discontinued and expected to be out of the market later this year, according to a July 1 note to distributors from Peter Skrbek, CEO of the Bend, OR-headquartered craft brewery. “Kirkland Signature Helles Lager and Kirkland Signature Vintage Ale will be winding down in their current iterations by the end of 2026,” Skrbek wrote in the note, which Brewbound also obtained. | | 📊 Data Dive | | | | Soccer fans aren’t just upping their bev-alc intake this summer – they’re increasing how early in the week (and the day) they’re going out for a beverage, according to the latest report from on-premise insights firm BeerBoard. On-premise revenue grew (+6.94%) and volume (+6.29%) both increased YoY between June 11 and June 28 – the first 18 days of the World Cup.
