Tilray Brands has struck a deal to acquire some assets of Scottish craft brewery BrewDog, it announced today

The deal, which closed today, includes BrewDog’s global brand and IP, its brewing operations in Scotland, and 11 pubs across the U.K. and Ireland. A separate deal for assets in the U.S. and Australia is underway and expected to close in 30 days.

The announcement comes weeks after news broke that BrewDog was exploring a sale and had secured the services of global consulting firm AlixPartners.

Tilray CEO and chairman Irwin Simon said in the release: “BrewDog is one of the most iconic, mission-driven craft beer brands in the U.K. It helped redefine modern craft beer through bold innovation, fearless creativity and an unwavering commitment to great beer. What makes BrewDog truly special has always been its brewers, its brewpubs and its passionate community of beer fans.”

Tilray is set to acquire 3 BrewDog pubs in Scotland, 1 in Ireland and 7 in England, 5 of which are in London.

More to come following Tilray’s conference call Monday afternoon.
