Protein soda is one of this year’s hottest beverage trends, but SoCal-based VUUM is already tweaking its iteration to stay ahead of the rising competition. “We've seen an evolving acceptance and understanding of what this drink even is,” co-founder Matt Forsey told us, as his brand plans to keep acceptance and awareness high with its new “lighter and brighter” formulation (trimming some of the functional ingredients in the process) at a lower price.

The Scout Distribution sell off continued last week, with Arizona’s Hensley Beverage Co. agreeing to pick up the remaining 75% of Scout’s business in the Grand Canyon state, after purchasing a minority stake earlier this year.
