| | Brewbound Headlines | | | Tilray Brands beverage division president Ty Gilmore is departing the company, in one of several leadership changes, the craft beverage and cannabis firm announced Wednesday.
Tilray chief growth officer Prinz Pinakatt is taking over the beverage division, effective immediately, chief corporate affairs officer Berrin Noorta shared in an email to Brewbound. In addition to Pinakatt’s promotion, Tilray announced several other personnel moves. | | Data Dive | | | Overall bev-alc inflation continued to grow in May, but appears to be easing for the majority of the industry, except for spirits.
Spirits led bev-alc inflation both at home and away from home in May, marking the 2nd consecutive month the category outpaced all sectors of bev-alc, according to the BLS in the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report. The category outpaced total bev-alc, which increased 1.5% YoY and declined 0.1% MoM, without seasonal adjustment. | | ICYMI | | | The Dead are helping raise Dogfish Head’s trends. The Boston Beer Company-owned craft brewery’s (Milton, DE) launch of Grateful Dead Juicy Pale Ale earlier this year has returned the brand to growth for the first time since 2019, co-founder Sam Calagione told Brewbound last week. “The launch of Juicy Pale Ale is now officially the biggest new product launch in the history of Dogfish,” Calagione shared, adding that it has surpassed 60 Minute IPA’s launch to become the biggest volume debut in Dogfish’s 30-year history. Calagione officially revealed the beer in December at Brewbound Live, announcing a 5-year partnership with the Grateful Dead.
