| | Today's Top Story | | | | Move over Boomers, there’s a new big spender in town.
Gen X consumers now account for the largest percentage of CPG, general merchandise and QSR sales, usurping Boomers for the first time, according to a new report from consumer insights firm Numerator. Gen X households contributed 34.1% of total sales in the last 12 months (data ending June 30). While down from 34.2% in 2024, the generation was still able to pass Boomers, as the latter generation’s share fell from 35% to 33.7%. | | Brewbound Headlines | | | | The court-appointed receiver for Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey says the embattled whiskey company still holds “significant value,” but will need to clarify incomplete financial records and its capitalization table, and shed non-core assets before evaluating future offers for investment. 12 employees have already been laid off – 13% of the company’s workforce – and there are plans to continue to “evaluate the workforce and expenditures of the company,” according to a quarterly evaluation of the company filed October 1 by the company’s receiver, Phillip G.
