| 📰 Today's Top Story | | | The reveal of Hormbles Chormbles this week had us scratching our heads – seriously, what is a Chormble? – but eager to learn more about the newest venture from the founding duo of RXBAR.
Unless you’ve been living under a Hormble-sized rock, you already know Peter Rahal and Jared Smith scaled and sold RXBAR to The Kellogg Company for $600 million in 2017. And in the years following the deal, both invested in and advised emerging packaged food brands. Now that their five-year non-competitive agreements have expired, Rahal and Smith are back in the game as startup founders. We already caught up with Rahal to cover the highly anticipated launch of his high-protein bar brand David earlier this month (read all about it here). Yesterday Smith sat down with Nosh to share more about Hormbles Chormbles, a chocolate candy brand set to launch in the first quarter of next year. Nosh Insiders can access the full story to learn about the inspiration behind Hormbles Chormbles and the brand’s plans to disrupt the candy category.

| | ✨ What You Need to Know ✨ | | | MrBeast’s chocolate company Feastables is making headlines once again this month with the announcement it has become the first U.S.-based company to join Tony Chocolonely’s Open Chain as a Mission Ally.
📍 Tony’s Open Chain initiative seeks to “combat the unfair distribution of value and power in the chocolate industry, which drives cocoa farmers into poverty” by better tracing cocoa beans from farm to shelf, paying farmers higher prices and building long-term relationships with those farming partners. 🤝 The new partnership will see Feastables align its sourcing with Tony’s principals. Last week, Feastables announced a new joint venture with fellow influencer backed brand PRIME that saw the debut of lunch kit brand Lunchly and will incorporate both brand’s products. 🗣️ What they said: “We’re trying to do things differently because the way the sector currently defines what is right and what is ethical, doesn’t always help West African kids or their families. It’s why we’re hiring sector experts, why we’ve partnered with leaders like Tony’s Open Chain, and why we’re already listening and working with local West African partners.” - Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast. |

💪 The CPG Week hosts ponder the mystery of Hormbles Chormbles (see above for some clarity) before discussing how RXBAR founder Peter Rahal’s other new brand David is being applauded by some and fielding complaints by others. 🧃 The group moves on to discuss Lunchly, the co-branded kids lunch kits from PRIME and Feastables, that is using the clout of its influencer founders to market to children.
