The future of the thriving cannabis beverage industry, specifically hemp-derived drinks that can be sold outside of adult-use regulated channels, is under intense pressure following November’s decision by Congress to effectively ban all hemp-derived products even with trace levels of intoxicating THC. 

Rather than signaling a death knell, however, the law has spurred industry leaders to regroup, organize and take on the challenge of saving a category just as it starts to show its true potential.
