Alcohol consumption has been in decline. Old news, right? One of the only bright spots in the beverage-alcohol category has been the ready-to-drink category, which has grown steadily for the last 10 years.

While total bev-alc dollar sales declined 4.4% year-over-year to $8.7 billion during the four-week period ending June 6, prepared cocktails (wine- and spirits-based RTD cocktails, flavored malt beverages, or FMBs, and hard seltzers) sales grew 0.7%, according to in NIQ-tracked off-premise channels.

Yet, there might be cracks developing in the canned cocktail foundation.
